About us
The purpose of this group is:
- To connect people interested in free software issues
- A discussion group to share knowledge and experience, eg. understanding free software licensing or convincing your boss to release code under a free software license
- To support and encourage free software advocacy
- To work together on solving issues local to Australia, eg. that software by the Australian Tax Office is proprietary
We aim to fill a niche that complements GNU/Linux user groups like the Linux Users of Victoria or the Melbourne Linux Users Group You may also enjoy participating in one or both of these groups.
Mailing list
We run a low traffic mailing list. Please join the list and say hi!
Monthly discussion group
Each month (third Thursday), we choose one or more free software issues for discussion. It is a relaxed "sit around and chat" type event. No prior knowledge is expected. Hope to see you there!
